Sponsored by Albany Law School, Acting Dean and President Connie Mayer presents a one-hour narrated PowerPoint presentation focusing on conflict of interest rules and how they impact pro bono representation. This program will discuss the traditional conflict of interest rules, Model Rules 1.7, 1.9, and 1.10, and how Rule 6.5 relaxes these rules in certain circumstances to give lawyers more flexibility in providing pro bono representation.

Participants will review key legal issuing impacting homeless veterans. In addition to giving an overview of national resources, the program will focus on community education outreach efforts. Finally, the program will also explore issues of cultural competency in this area of the law — e.g. how to work with clients suffering from PSTD.
