Private Attorney Sponsored Projects
Private attorney sponsored projects provide a crucial and core component of the Pro Bono Project. Individual attorneys in private practice and law firms wishing to enhance their pro bono efforts can submit a project to the Pro Bono Project and get immediate assistance from Wake Law students. By assisting attorneys with their pro bono work, we hope to increase the number of pro bono cases that these attorneys can handle. This mutually beneficial arrangement is a benefit to the attorneys wishing to make a difference in the community and for students who gain valuable experience and get to meet practicing attorneys in the region.
Some recent examples of Private Attorney Sponsored Projects include:
- Ellison Law Firm – Criminal Defense Case
- Willie Kennedy, Esq. – Adoption Petition
- The Henderson Law Firm – Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Case
- Private Law Firm – Appellate Brief for 4th Circuit Criminal Appeal
- Private Law Firm – Research for Habeas Petition
- Public Defender’s Office – Criminal Defense Case
